Abstract:

A cumulative detection plot, including significant candidate events from O4a, O4b, and O4c.

From O1 through O4b, the counts correspond to confirmed gravitational-wave detections included in the GWTC catalog papers. In contrast, the O4c counts represent candidate events that triggered significant low-latency alerts and were not subsequently retracted. O4c counts will be updated once the corresponding GWTC catalog is released.

For O4a(O4b), the event counts are fixed at 139(161), following GWTC-5.0. This total includes two(five) events detected in five(four) days of data from the engineering run preceding O4a(O4b), which were analyzed and reported in GWTC-5.0. Consequently, in the figure, these five(four) days from pre-O4a(O4b) engineering run are included within O4a(O4b), thereby making the O4a(O4b) period appear five(four) days longer than its actual duration.

The O4c observing period is divided into two segments: "January 28 April 1, 2025" and "June 11 November 18, 2025". These are distinguished in the figure by different fill colors: dark blue for the first segment and light blue for the second. The intervening gap is omitted from the figure.
