Abstract:

One of the principal changes between initial LIGO and enhanced LIGO was the use of DC readout for the extraction of the gravitational wave channel, validating the low-noise performance of a technology prototyped earlier at the 40 meter and elsewhere. I will discuss the motivation for and implementation of DC readout in Enhanced LIGO, and measurements of several of the important noise couplings.
