LIGO Document G1000328-v1
- The idea of using pulsars to detect gravitational waves is more than 30 years old, but now international resources are being put toward making this a reality, and recently the international pulsar timing array community has demonstrated that it may detect gravitational waves within 10 years. I will show that a pulsar timing array is analogous to LIGO but at nanohertz frequencies, and will go on to describe recent results from NANOGrav including limits on the stochastic background, limits on continuous sources, and new developments in burst detection.
