Searching for compact binary coalescence signals in gravitational-wave data

Document #:
Document type:
G - Presentations (eg Graphics)
Other Versions:
Gravitational-wave detectors are continuing to get more sensitive, reaching and exceeding their design sensitivities. Their most promising source of signals is from compact binary coalescences. I present the physics behind these sources, the expected astrophysical coalescence rates, and techniques used in and results from searches for these signals. I also present current work to reduce the latency of these searches.
