Abstract:

Here we present measurements of the output noise of the LIGO 32 Bit DACs. Voltage noise spectrums were measured down to 10mHz, with the DAC outputting a DC bias of 0, 1 and 8 volts. We observed a broadband noisefloor of 30nV/rtHz above 10Hz, for all the different DC offsets, with the noise increasing below that at a rate worsening with increasing DC bias. Functional approximations to the spectra are given for use in modelling.
