LIGO Document G1500564-v2
- Over the past several years, much progress has been made in our ability to process ground-based interferometer antenna data with low latencies. We now achieve latencies of a few tens of seconds in searches for compact object collisions --- much shorter than the impulse length template waveforms --- allowing for practical transient alerts from LIGO and Virgo.
In this talk I will summarize the techniques used to achieve low latency compact object searches, discuss the limitations of these searches, and provide a short introduction to the data products to be provided in the up-coming science runs.
