- The Laser Interferometer Gravitational-wave Observatory (LIGO) is a first generation interferometric gravitational wave observatory currently searching the sky for gravitational waves. It is also finalizing the preparation for a major upgrade to a second generation configuration known as Advanced LIGO. This talk will give an update on the results of Initial LIGO and the progress of Advanced LIGO commissioning.
